42% More Leads through Personalized Cold Email

Context

 

We approached an Atlanta-based wealth management firm to help them reach out to high networth individuals within Georgia. They were primarily reliant on referrals for client acquisition, which meant that they were experiencing significant periods without adding new clients to their portfolio. We proposed a personalized cold email campaign to precisely targeted prospects to help them generate new business.

Challenges

  • Converting high networth individuals who are hard to reach.

  • Driving new leads quickly without high costs of paid ads.

  • Improving the quality of prospects which was a key concern

Our Solution

We devised an outreach strategy based on the following pillars -

​

  • Created a list of prospects who owned companies with at least 5 employees

​

This metric allowed us to increase the likelihood that we reaching the target audience for our client’s business. While it is difficult to create a list of prospects based on networth, we found a workaround to the issue which proved to be effective.

  • Tested various email scripts which spoke to our prospects’ pain points

We consulted with our clients and prepared a list of key concerns and issues. We prepared 6 different email scripts based on these pain points. The next step was to test each script to assess which emails had the highest likelihood of success.

  • Personalised each email to prove that we value our prospect’s business

​

Rather than sending 10,000 automated emails to random prospects, we did our research on each prospect that we reached out to. For example, many of our emails congratulated our prospects on their professional achievements as a way of breaking the ice.

Results

  • After several rounds of testing, we found an email script and follow-up cadence that worked for our client’s needs.​

  • We drove 42% more leads over two months, delivering a significantly positive ROI.
